The Clue Sues are a team of Sues and Stus of varying levels. Most of their members rank at Level 4.

Description[]

The Clue Sues were first encountered, obviously, in the Clue fandom. Their presence was detected by the Society's computers - albeit belatedly - for, by the time a team of Agents had arrived on the scene, the Sues had already murdered several canon characters.

They do not seem to be related by blood, although they certainly appear alike. On the whole, they possess very light hair, blue eyes, a straight nose, and pale skin that demonstrates the absence of toil in the sun.

Their leader seems to be the Sue who calls herself Lady Iris. Her second-in-command might be the Stu who calls himself Lord Kelly. All the Clue Sues have appended titles commonly reserved for English nobility to their own names.

It is not known if the Sues originated from the Clue fandom - or if they chose to locate there for their own purposes - but despite a confrontation with Society Agents, they indicated no desire to begin a fight. Rather, Iris proposed to play a game with Karissa, Lily, Stephen and Kyle. The Agents were to deduce which of the Clue Sues would murder the protagonist John Boddy. After some false starts, the Agents were able to accomplish this objective successfully.

Each of the Clue Sues derives their name from the dominant colour of their clothing. They differ in personality, character development and age.

Iris[]

Iris
Name Iris
Gender Female
Age 29
Introduced In "Insert Careless Victim of Murder Here"

Iris would be the female counterpart of canon character Professor Plum. In short, she prefers the colour purple (in this case, a shade near to violet). She is the oldest of the Clue Sues, and also the strongest. She ranks at Level Five, but description of her strength is meant quite literally as well. It does not trouble her to lift two adult women over her shoulders, one on each arm. She seems to have a high tolerance for alcohol. She sensed something familiar in Lily, and later forced the latter to reveal her former identity as Bella Aubrey. She seemed contemptuous about Lily's about-face - in fact, she seems at times to also be contemptuous of the lesser Sues comprising her group. Iris is immaculately coiffed and made up to appear younger than her age, but her looks bely potential danger. It is implied that Iris single-handedly carried out the murders of Boddy's canon guests. She has a fondness for reciting others' quotes as well as throwing her own words back at a person when the meaning would be appropriate or ironic to the present situation. She is one of only two of the group who can create her own Plotholes.

Tiffany[]

Tiffany
Name Tiffany
Gender Female
Age 21
Introduced In "Insert Careless Victim of Murder Here"

Tiffany would be the equivalent of canon character Mrs. Peacock. In short, she prefers the colour blue (in this case, that pale imitation of turquoise favoured by Tiffany & Co.) She shares the distinction of being the youngest of the Clue Sues with Amber. They are both Level Fours. She is somewhat more fierce than her friend, reacting very badly in response to Karissa choosing to drop her title. However, she degenerates into a silly, silly girl when she's had too much to drink. Perhaps she is a fan of the Wicked musical. At the conclusion of the Clue mission, she and Amber were abandoned by Iris, intentionally meant to be captured by the Society and confined in the Library's Basement. Iris implied that the girls would be treated well under the new rules, and she hoped that they would befriend other Sues of their own age.

Amber[]

Amber
Name Amber
Gender Female
Age 21
Introduced In "Insert Careless Victim of Murder Here"

Amber would be the female counterpart of canon character Colonel Mustard. In short, she prefers the colour yellow (in this case, a mixture of orange-yellow). She shares the distinction of being the youngest of the Clue Sues with Tiffany. They are both Level Fours. Not much is known about Amber at this time, or maybe there is simply not much to set her apart from Tiffany. It would appear that Amber lets others dictate her actions in life. As Rufous obeyed Kelly's quelling hand asking him not to attack the Agents, so did she; when Tiffany burst into song inspired by her drunken state, so did she. At the conclusion of the Clue mission, she and Tiffany were abandoned by Iris, intentionally meant to be captured by the Society and confined in the Library's Basement. Iris implied that the girls would be treated well under the new rules, and she hoped that they would befriend other Sues of their own age.

Rufous[]

Rufous
Name Rufous
Gender Male
Age 28
Introduced In "Insert Careless Victim of Murder Here"

Rufous would be the male counterpart of canon character Miss Scarlett. In short, he prefers the colour red (in this case, a reddish brown alike to rust or oxidised iron). Rufous can be congenial at most times, although the mere prospect of a fight will quite excite him. He is a Level Four Stu, but is not very creative with his power. Until now he's expended most of his suergy on keeping his good looks. He fits the classic definition of "handsome" without crossing the border into excessive beauty. If Stephen's judgement is sound, Rufous might well become an alcoholic in the future. He has a strong grip, whether he grasps living things or inanimate objects (such as liquor bottles). Although Rufous escaped the fandom with Iris and Kelly, it was revealed that he is unable to create his own Plotholes.

Kelly[]

Kelly
Name Kelly
Gender Male
Age 24
Introduced In "Insert Careless Victim of Murder Here"

Kelly would be the equivalent of canon character Mr. Green. In short, he prefers the colour green (in this case, a bright green lighter than the shade called Hunter). He is a Level Four Stu, but all that keeps him from Level Five is a lack of ambition. His suergy is quite effective. Kelly is a bit of a flirt, as is demonstrated by his continuous efforts to chat up Karissa and Lily. He has a good sense of humour and "an uncommonly pleasant voice". He appears to have been brought up well - or else he was written with built-in manners - because he went to bid Boddy goodnight of his own accord, before turning in himself; he also adheres to the custom of standing whenever a lady leaves the table at a meal. Three things were further revealed about Kelly at the conclusion of the Clue mission: he is able to throw his own voice, or an imitation of others', over a fairly impressive distance; like Iris, he is able to create his own Plotholes; and he has - or had - a distinct crush on Karissa.
